Faye Lee Watson, age 88, of Madisonville, widow of Kennard Watson, her husband of 53 years, passed away Saturday evening, April 16, 2022 at Sweetwater Hospital. Her Celebration of Life took place on May 15, 2022 in the Sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Madisonville.

DownloadIndianapolis, IN & Madisonville,TN – Freida Louise Naylor formerly of Madisonville, TN passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 in Indianapolis. She was born on October 26, 1932 in Seymour, IN. She was the daughter of the late Elsie C. Johnson-Bush and step-daughter of the late Joseph F. Bush.
Freida was a retired federal employee of the Department of the Army. Her career as a federal employee began in 1950 at Camp Atterbury. She worked for the Department of Defense at the Jefferson Proving Ground and at Fort Harrison where she retired. She and her husband, Walt Naylor, retired to Tennessee (Fairfield Glade and later to Madisonville). In retirement Freida help organize two affiliate chapters of the National Association on Mental Illness (NAMI) that are still active today. She was also a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi International.
More than anything else, she loved time with her family. She was a gifted gardener sharing her plants with friends and family. Freida was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville, TN. She joyfully served on several committees, church trips, and work projects. A devoted wife and neighbor, she was the first to help others with a joyful heart.
She is survived by her loving step-daughter, Vera Jean Naylor Kent (Husband Wade) and Frieda’s stepsons; Walter Ray Naylor, Jr and Robert Naylor (All living in Indiana). She is also survived by her sister, Linda K. Bush Knight (Husband Doug, both live in Oregon). She is also survived by her grandchildren Ryan Hammitt, Angel Harrill, and Andrea Hammitt as well as several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Jack C. Hammitt and Walter R. Naylor. She was also preceded by three children: Michael D. Hammitt, Kevin W. Hammitt, and Candace N. Hammitt-Martin. Freida was also preceded in death by two grandsons: Joseph Barton and Caleb Bush.
Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Freida Naylor to: the First United Methodist Church, or the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
