Marilyn M. DePew, age 92, of Madisonville, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at Life Care Center of Blount County. Marilyn grew up in Cincinnati and moved to Knoxville to attend her senior year at Central High School. She attended UT where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics and met her life-long love and husband of over 67 years, Ralph.
Marilyn was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Madisonville and particularly enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in the United Methodist Women. She was an avid reader and loved games and puzzles. In addition to raising 4 children, she loved being a 6th grade teacher’s aide for one of her best friends, Sally McDowell.
Preceded in death by husband, Ralph DePew, mother, Mary Gally, father, John Means, sister, Barbara Dement; Survivors, daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie DePew, Paula and Brenton Cooper, Amy and Denny Wolz, son, Eric DePew, grandchildren, Felicia DaBell, Jessica Davidson, Greg Barkett, Abby Barkett, Leah McPherson, Tyler Wolz, Alex DePew.
A Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, July 16, 2023, Madisonville First United Methodist Church, Rev. Chris Black officiating. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
